Joe Anderson – Editor

Joe is the Editor & Chief for Shopto News. He loves gaming and regularly writes news when sitting on the train to events even though he has a 3DS in his pocket. Previous roles include freelance work for gaming sites such as, Made2Game, The SixthAxis and quite a few others. He has been working in the gaming industry as a writer for around 8 years, has attended numerous events, interviewed plenty of developers and most importantly of all, eaten lots of lovely food provided by the PR companies.

Joe’s main task is to oversee the smooth running of the website, while also making sure there is a steady stream of content for you to read each day.

Ash Buchanan – Assistant Editor

Ash has been a gamer for as long as he can remember, starting in the home computer scene with the Acorn Electron and moving up to the BBC Micro and then home built PC’s. Now Ash is predominantly a console gamer, collecting some of the more offbeat consoles and games that have been released and has been reviewing titles for the past 6 years.

Alec Hilton – Staff Writer

Alec Hilton has worked in the video game industry for the last 3 years. In that time he has have worked on websites such as StrategyInformer, AvidGamer, RealGamer, 360Evolved and WonderWallWeb. Most recently, he has been a contributor on TheSixthAxis, an opinion writer on Nometet and Assistant Editor on Made2Game.

Alec has been a gamer since he was very young. Getting his first gaming fix at the tender age of 3 and it has been a life long obsession ever since.

Christopher Gordon Douglas – Staff Writer

Chris has been gaming for several years, his gaming portfolio includes consoles such as Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 3, right through to mobile and handheld devices such as PSP. Previous writing experience comes from writing for PlayStation LifeStyle, Hip Hop Gamer Show, Made2Game as well as the odd article or video for EverythinGaming.

Christopher Pickering – Staff Writer

A long time writer on all things games and technology, you might have seen his words within the pages of PC Zone, Custom PC, 360 GAMER, and Empire. As well as on websites like Eurogamer, bit-gamer, and Pocket Gamer. Chris maintains that Sega Rally (the Saturn version, of course) is by far the greatest video gaming release of all time, and regularly breaks out his aged console to shave a few seconds off his best lap times.

Jake Green – Staff Writer

Jake Green is fairly new to the industry and has been writing about video games for around 2 years, during this time he has worked on sites such as PlatformNation, Made2Game and Botchweed as well as writing the odd article for some others.

Jake has been gaming for almost as long as he can remember and his list of previously owned consoles includes the Dreamcast, PS1, Gamecube, Xbox, PS3 and a SNES, despite the fact the machine was released before he was born.





Microsoft E3 conference to be shown on Xbox LIVE

Microsoft has announced that its 90-minute E3 Briefing ‘Xbox: Entertainment Evolved,’ will be streamed on Xbox LIVE straight from the LA event next month.

Entertainment Evolved certainly sounds like an intriguing title for the event. What are MS up to? Well, we know about Halo 4 and the potential $99 Xbox 360 subscription deal, who knows what else Microsoft has up its sleeves though.


We’ll have a man in the press conference, so as soon as we find out, you will too.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier goes gold

Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has passed the gold master stage of development, meaning that it’s now locked in for a May 25 release.

Previews of the latest game in the series have been generally favourable so far, thanks to its use of future combat technology and cutting-edge military hardware seeing it apart from the crowd as something a little different.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available on May 25th for the Xbox 360 and  PlayStation 3. It will be released for Windows PC on June 15th.

Max Payne 3 gets second multiplayer gameplay video

Rockstar’s released the second video in its two-part series showcasing Max Payne 3’s Multiplayer.

The Multiplayer Gameplay Part Two video focuses on Gang Wars, which use events from the single-player game as narrative starting points for matches with a dynamically shifting storyline based on the outcomes of each round; and some of the features that allow players to form grudges and alliances, such as Vendettas and the ability to join Crews; and Max Payne 3′s range of multiplayer special abilities called Bursts, including Bullet Time.
